The sights and sounds of ACGC school spirit filled the streets of Guthrie Center yesterday for the 2017 Adair-Casey/Guthrie Center homecoming parade.
The parade began with the presentation of colors followed by the high school marching band and elementary students. The homecoming king and queen candidates were interspersed among the various junior high and high school classes. The assembly culminated in a pep rally on the eastern end of the courthouse. The choral and band departments gave an update on upcoming activities and the fall sports teams thanked the student body for their support. The ACGC dance team, drumline, and cheerleaders also performed.
The Week concluded with the football game and coronation of the king and queen. This year’s king and queen are Collin Stowe and Alexa Herbert. Stowe is the son of Mike and Cara Underwood and Brian Stowe, and will attend Iowa State for Engineering. Alexa Herbert is the daughter of Mike and Nicki Herbert and will pursue degrees in Criminology and Psychology. The football team didn’t have quite enough homecoming magic to pull off the victory as they fell to the Treynor Cardinals 14-9.
