Practical Farmers of Iowa is hoping to make the lives of beginning farmers a little easier. The organization has announced the opening of their application process for their Savings Incentive Program.
Farmers who have less than five years farming their own land, or individuals who have other farming experiences including internships, apprenticeships, and other farm employment are eligible for the program. Selected applicants will be placed with a farming mentor and will receive matching funds up to $2,400 through a savings program. Those selected will also have the opportunity to attend farming networking events and will receive support in creating a farm business plan.
This is the 8th round of selection in the two year program and 127 individuals have benefitted since launching in 2010. Up to 12 applicants will be selected for the program. To apply, click on the link below:
