The Guthrie County Board of Supervisors met in regular session Tuesday.
David Garland of Guthrie Center Communications presented information technology updates to the Board. According to the most recent county cyber security report, the County’s antivirus software caught ransomware attacks and quarantined the malicious files before employees could open the emails. Harland also notified the Board that existing software at the County Recorder’s office is incompatible with current servers. The Board plans to examine the budget to determine if these upgrades are feasible. The Board also approved new backup software for the department.
The Board then awarded the cold storage contract to Irlmeier Construction of Adair for $74,743 and approved three right-of-way purchase agreements for bridge replacement projects. The agreements total just over $12,000 and the project is located in Victory Township at the intersection of Redwood Avenue and 170th Street. The Board then reviewed bids for smaller Secondary Roads Department projects, which will be awarded at next week’s meeting.
Finally Becky Benton updated the Board on an insurance development, including $50,000 worth of coverage on the veterans monuments. The Board accepted the latest quarterly Veterans Affairs Commission report, and approved the County Auditor’s authorization on issuing paychecks without prior Board consent.
