A semi-tractor trailer driver suffered a medical issue that caused an accident on Highway 30 in Greene County.

According to the Greene County Sheriff’s office, 42-year-old Terry Gaul of Cedar Rapids was traveling east on Highway 30 when he suffered a medical condition. The incident sent his 2016 Freightliner semi through the construction barriers of the overpass bridge in Grand Junction. Gaul was able to stop the vehicle right before the frame of the bridge deck that didn’t have concrete poured on it yet.

According to the report, only minor damage was done to the semi and Gaul was taken to Greene County Medical Center.

Greene County Sheriff’s office and Greene County Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene.
