Thursday, September 28th

The Sheriff investigated a single vehicle accident on 228th Street just east of Elizabeth Street in Grand Junction. Michelle Higgins 36 of Grand Junction was traveling eastbound on 228th and was blinded by the sun and entered the south ditch. There was no damage to her 2007 Pontiac Grand Prix. There were no citations issued.

A deputy investigated a dog bite in the 200 block of South Park Street, Paton.

A deputy investigated a two-vehicle accident on Main Street and 9th Street, Grand Junction. Douglas Mcquerry 61 of Slater ran a stop sign and almost struck another vehicle. Douglas was cited for failure to obey a stop sign.

A deputy investigated a phone scam in the 1900 block of L Avenue.

Melissa Kroupe 38 of Granger was booked into the jail for burglary 3rd degree and attempted burglary 2nd degree.

A deputy investigated a trespass complaint in the 900 block of East Hager Street, Grand Junction. Freedom Ore 36 of Des Moines was arrested for trespass.

A deputy investigated a fire in the 800 block of North Street, Churdan. Churdan fire responded and put out a couch that was being burnt by the occupants.

A deputy investigated a suspicious vehicle in the 400 block of Harding Street, Churdan.

Freedom Ore 36 of Des Moines was booked into the jail for trespass.

Craig Johnson was booked into the jail for operating while under the influence 1st offense.

A deputy assisted the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office with a rollover accident near 100th Street and I Avenue.

Friday, September 29th

A deputy investigated a suspicious person on 220th Street just east of Orchard Avenue.

Angela Beem 46 of Jefferson was booked into the jail for criminal mischief 3rd degree.

A deputy investigated a theft in the 500 block of Lincoln Street, Scranton.

A deputy investigated a theft in the 300 block of 7th Street, Grand Junction.

A deputy investigated a careless driving complaint on 220th Street near S Avenue.

A deputy investigated a fight in the 2200 block of E Avenue.

A deputy investigated a criminal mischief complaint in the 100 block of West Main Street, Grand Junction.

A deputy investigated a hit and run in the 800 block of East Main Street, Grand Junction. A vehicle had struck a garage moving the garage off its foundation.

A deputy investigated a theft in the 100 block of East Main Street, Grand Junction.

A deputy investigated an abandoned vehicle on 190th Street near I Avenue.

A deputy investigated a careless driving complaint on 220th Street near Grand Junction.

A deputy investigated a suspicious person on 220th Street near mile marker 103.

A deputy investigated a hit and run in the 300 block of South 7th Street, Grand Junction.

A deputy and an Iowa State Trooper investigated a single car accident on 130th Street near C Avenue. Cassondra Blankenship 26 of Carroll swerved to miss a deer and went into the ditch. Churdan Rescue responded and transported her to the Lake City. Cassondra had minor injuries. She was driving a 2005 Pontiac G6 and had minor damage.

Sunday, October 1st

A deputy assisted a motorist on 130th Street and U Avenue.

A deputy assisted an ambulance in the 300 block of South Pinet Street, Jefferson.

A deputy assisted the Boone County Sheriff’s Office with a theft.

A deputy investigated a careless driving complaint on 220th Street and W Avenue.

Trent Ray 21 of Polk City was booked into the jail for domestic abuse assault 1st offense.

In all cases when a defendant has been charged, this is merely an accusation, and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
