There are two new houses in Perry that are ready to be unveiled by Cornerstone Homes. To help them out, the Perry Chamber of Commerce is hosting a ribbon cutting event tomorrow.
The event will be held from 4-6 p.m. at the two houses located on Sunflower Street east of Perry Elementary. There will be free food and drinks, a thank you to the businesses that have donated to the project and the “Welcome to Perry” packages, and a visit by the ReMax hot air balloon. Weather permitting, they will offer free rides to attendees. Zack Cregeen, a realtor with ReMax Concepts and part of the project, says the two houses are just the first part of the long term plan for the area. Cornerstone has eight other lots for future development, and several options to choose from for styles.
The first two houses are ranch and two-story homes, and each is currently available for purchase. As incentives to purchase the houses, potential residents will receive one of the “Welcome to Perry” packages, as well as a 10-year abatement plan. They will pay no property taxes for five years, followed by five years of prorated taxes. Cregeen explains the options interested buyers have for the new housing. “They can either purchase one of these two homes that are completed. Or we can tailor to whatever they want to build on the other eight lots that we do have nearby.”
