ACGC’s first win of the season came at the Atlantic Invitational against Earlham. The Lady Chargers are hoping history will repeat itself as they square off against the Lady Cardinals in a WCAC conference matchup tonight in Earlham.
The Lady Chargers’ last three matches have been a back-and-forth battle. In the last three matches, ACGC looked out of sorts against Des Moines Christian, tamed Ogden, and couldn’t survive against Woodward-Granger. Head Coach Lyndsey Noe credits the lack of consistent passing to the inability to be productive on offense.
Earlham comes into the match desperate to get a win and move up in the conference standings. Right now the Lady Cardinals’ lone conference victory is over West Central Valley, and they are tied with Panorama for sixth in the conference standings. Senior Taylor Hipsley leads Earlham in kills with 116, to go along with 22 aces. Fellow senior Emma Thomson is also a threat with 30 blocks and 61 kills.
The Lady Chargers would solidify fourth place in the conference with a win tonight.
