The conference season continues in Dallas County tonight for the Panorama Panthers volleyball team (6-15). The Panthers will pay a visit to Woodward-Granger for a West Central Conference showdown against the Hawks (14-10). Last year’s meeting saw Panorama fall to Woodward-Granger in straight sets (17-25, 11-25, 5-25).
The Panthers eclipsed last years win total last Monday with a pair of victories at the Saydel tournament. Their last conference match was last Tuesday in Van Meter, falling in straight sets (13-25, 18-25, 18-25). Kennedy Kuta was perfect 11-11 serving and dished out a team-best 12 assists in the loss. Brooke Halterman led the Panthers’ offense with six kills, and Olivia Richey topped the defense with 11 digs.
The Hawks are bringing a four-match winning streak into their matchup with Panorama. Ashley Gales ranks fifth in the West Central Conference with 118 kills while Emma Drake’s 239 assists are the sixth most in the league. They swept the AC/GC Chargers in their latest league match last Tuesday (25-19, 25-17, 25-19). Alyssa Bice had a team-best 11 kills while Drake served up 29 assists.
Tonight’s West Central Conference varsity match between Panorama and Woodward-Granger begins at 7 p.m. in Granger.
