Greene Co marching band performing in homecoming parade

The 60th annual Carroll Band Day happened this past Saturday.

Greene County High School competed in the parade marching contest. The Rams took third place in Class 3A. Storm Lake High School received first place and earned the traveling trophy for best overall band of the day. Boone took second place. Greene County Director Wes Anderson says he is looking forward to reading the feedback from the judges on how to improve their parade marching and how well the band’s color guard did. He also thought the music choice this year was better suited for parade marching.

Carroll Chamber Program Director Sarah Foley says there were 16 total bands ranging from Class 1A to Class 3A in the parade contest including ten high schools and six middle schools.

Unfortunately due time commitments for students, Anderson points out they didn’t participate in the field show portion in the afternoon. However, he is looking forward to the band performing their full “Star Wars” themed show including: the Main Theme, Rey’s Theme, Jedi Steps and the Finale-Reprise of the Main Theme, at the final home varsity football game on Friday, October 20th.
