The Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union released the pairings for the Class 2A Regional tournaments. West Central Valley will begin their 2017 postseason in the Region Four tournament with a trip to Truro for a rematch with the Lady Roadrunners.
In their regular season meeting, the Lady Wildcats took I-35 to five sets, ultimately falling 25-10, 21-25, 25-16, 18-25, and 10-15. The Lady Roadrunners are 6-11 overall and have plenty of games to get into rhythm before opening against the Lady Wildcats.
The winner of the West Central Valley/ I-35 match will meet an Earlham squad who have won five of their last seven matches, including a hotly contested three set victory over ACGC last night. The other half of that section features a battle of the Valleys between Nodaway Valley and Southwest Valley, with the winner to face fifth ranked Sidney.
The bottom half of the region pits Pleasantville against Martensdale-St. Mary’s, with the victor to tangle with Des Moines Christian. Mount Ayr and Wayne round out the final pairing in Region Four. The winner will get Clarinda in the second round.
