Greene County cross-country Coach Jeff Lamoureux is pleased with the progress the Rams are making. The coach talked with Raccoon Valley Radio the day after the girls placed fourth among 12 teams and the boys were eleventh among 14 on Tuesday in Lake City at the South Central Calhoun Invitational.

The girls were without usual number two runner Haley Hall due to a conflict with a Boone swimming meet as Hall is the rare athlete who participates in both sports. “We feel pretty good about their performance at Lake City. The conditions were pretty good. We’re getting there. We’re making strides and we seem to get better every meet. We had a couple season bests and a few PR (personal records) on Tuesday.”

Tuesday was the first time the Rams finished this high in a meet with out Hall, and it was the first time the boys had finished ahead of three teams.

Next up for the Rams is the Heart of Iowa Activities Conference meet on Monday, Oct. 9 hosted by South Hamilton at the Jewell Country Club.
