**TONIGHT’S KICKOFF BETWEEN ADM AND ATLANTIC HAS BEEN MOVED UP TO 6 P.M. CATCH THE LINCOLN SAVINGS BANK PREGRAM SHOW AROUND 5:30 P.M. ON TRUE COUNTRY K 107.9.**
The high school football season is down to the final three weeks for the Adel-Desoto-Minburn Tigers (1-5 overall; 0-4 Class 3A District 7). ADM will hit the road to Atlantic tonight for a Class 3A District 7 showdown versus the Trojans (3-3 overall; 1-3 Class 3A District 7). The Tigers defeated the Trojans last season in Adel, 36-7.
ADM nearly had their first on-field win of the season last week versus the Denison-Schleswig Monarchs (4-2 overall; 2-2 Class 3A District 7). Leading 13-7 with 25 seconds left in the game, the Monarchs scored on a one-yard touchdown run by quarterback Drew Polzin. They converted the extra point attempt, and a hail mary try by quarterback Matthew West was intercepted as time expired. ADM head football coach Mike Whisner says his team will get a similar test tonight versus Atlantic.
“I know (Atlantic) lost to Denison-Schleswig on a play at the end of the game.” Whisner said, “They are very similar to Denison-Schleswig. Size is similar, and they have good skill people. It’s another challenge for us, but we feel we are right where we need to be. We just need to finish plays.”
The Trojans are in the middle of an improved season by winning three of their first six games. Atlantic posted a 1-8 overall record last fall. The Trojans lost to the Glenwood Rams last week in district play, 42-20. It was the most points allowed by the Rams in a single game so far this season.
Catch tonight’s game between the ADM Tigers and the Atlantic Trojans on True Country K 107.9. The Lincoln Savings Bank Pregame show starts our live coverage at a special time of 5:30 p.m. with kickoff at 6 p.m.
