acgcThe ACGC cross country teams had another successful outing last night. The Charger squads participated in the Jim Klein Cross Country Invite at Jewell Golf and Country Club.

Kate Crawford is positioning herself well for another state title. Crawford won the invite with a time of 19 minutes and 36 seconds, helping the girls to a third place finish. Emma Swanson finished in fifth place with a time of 20 minutes and 54 seconds and Lauryn Embleton followed in sixth. Sophomore Keely Vasey also finished in the top 50.

Noah Nelsen also reached the top three once again, finishing in third with a time of 17 minutes and six seconds. The boys finished in a tie for fourth overall with Nevada. Clay Billheimer came across the line in 16th place with a time of 17 minutes and 48 seconds. Four additional Chargers finished in the top 50.

Gilbert swept both the boys and girls team titles. The Tiger boys placed five of the top ten and seven of the top twenty to win by an impressive 44 point gap over second place, and hosts, South Hamilton. Both teams will head to Panorama on Thursday for the West Central Activities Conference meet. The State meet is Saturday October 28th in Fort Dodge.
