Not much is left of the cross-country regular season for the Greene County Rams. Coach Jeff Lamoureux and the runners head to the Jewell Country Club golf course on Monday, Oct. 9 for the Heart of Iowa Activities Conference meet. It’s a coed event for middle school and high school runners.
The Rams were at Lake City on Tuesday for the South Central Calhoun Invitational, and the Coach was happy with a fourth place finish for the girls among 12 teams, and an eleventh place boys’ finish among 14 squads. The boys finished ahead of three teams for the first time this season. “We were actually missing one of our top five runners. Trevor Lebeck was suffering from an illness and couldn’t run with us, so we were without someone who usually finishes in our top five, and still finished eleventh out of 14 teams. Our four and five runners on Tuesday, Brian Hardaway and Josh Ewalt, really stepped it up and helped our team move up a few points and helped us out.”
The coach said he continues to see progress for both the girls and boys, and he hopes that continues at the HOIAC meet.
