About a dozen artists put their materials and creations on display at the Lake Panorama Conference Center yesterday. The artists were there as part of Guthrie County Arts Council’s 7th Annual Fall Festival. The festival featured an array of artworks, including jewelry, paintings, and embroidery.
Artists see this event as not only a platform to sell their creations. Artists like Dan Kemp also see this as an opportunity for central Iowa to expand its artist market. “I like meeting people and getting around and seeing the midwest. It’s a whole lifestyle.”
Jennifer Hewitt also enjoys meeting other artists, but ultimately the customers bring her the greatest moments. “Meeting all the other creative people and the customers; watching their delight and seeing our products and our talents. We love it.”
Two high school musical ensembles also performed a sneak preview of their fall shows. Adair-Casey/Guthrie Center is performing The Wizard of Oz and Panorama is preparing for their performances of Into the Woods.
