At the recent Perry School Board meeting, they held an organizational meeting to decide this year’s officers and committee members.
To start it off, recently reelected Board members Kyle Baxter and Casey Baldwin were sworn in by Board Secretary Kent Bultman. Baxter was then reelected to serve as Board President, though there will be a new Vice President this year. Jim Lutmer and Linda Andorf were both nominated for the position. Lutmer was the current Vice President, but Andorf was selected by a vote of 3-2.
The Board then decided to continue holding regular meetings on the second Monday of each month at 6 p.m. There was also continuity in the selection of representatives on Board committees: Baxter and Lutmer, as well as Superintendent Clark Wicks will serve on the joint school/city committee; Lutmer, Bultman, Wicks, Middle School Principal Shaun Kruger, and Board member Kenia Alarcon will serve on the negotiations committee; Andorf, Bultman, Wicks, a teacher, and a classified representative will serve on the health insurance committee; and Alarcon, Baldwin, Bultman, and Wicks will serve on the audit committee.
Additionally, Baxter was appointed to once again serve as the representative for the Iowa Association of School Board Delegate Assembly and the State Legislature, and Andorf will continue as the representative for the Dallas County Conference Board.
