DSCN7239There is a lot going on at the children’s department of the Jefferson Public Library.

The Lapsit Story Time and the Ready Readers Story Time both will take place tomorrow. Lapsit Story Time is for children from newborns to 23-months-old. It will be from 10 to 10:45am, with a social time from 10:45 to 11:30am. Ready Readers Story Time is for kids two to six-years-old. Story time is from 10 to 11am and the social time is from 11 to 11:30am. Children’s Librarian Terry Clark talks about the popularity of the programs.

“Last month we had 211 (people) in attendance for our storytimes. We just had a wonderful time. It so fun to see the children and see just the excitement that they have for these programs, so it’s a great thing.”DSCN7243

Clark points out that there will also be a free movie, “Max 2: White House Hero,” from 2 to 3:30pm also on Wednesday for four-year-olds to fifth graders in the library basement meeting room. Free pop and popcorn will be provided. She explains why they originally started free movie day.

“The movie day was started up to provide a program on early out days for the school-aged children so they had a safe place to come after school. We just like to provide a lot of activities that the children can enjoy. We have such a great community that provides so many activities that we wanted to be able to offer some too.”

Clark adds that anyone under the age of seven must be accompanied by an adult. No pre-registration is necessary for any of the free Wednesday activities.
