The Food Bank of Iowa’s mobile food pantry will be making its way back through Perry and Adel next week.
Next Monday, the mobile food pantry will be at the New Hope Youth Center in Adel from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Then on Wednesday, October 25th, it will stop at Dallas County Hospital in Perry from 4-6 p.m. At each location, the Food Bank’s trucks will deliver customized loads of food, including produce, meat, bread, and non-perishable items. Local volunteers will set up a distribution system similar to a farmers market.
The Food Bank provides the mobile food pantry as a flexible food assistance resource in locations that don’t always have access to traditional resources. It’s also used as a good location for programs such as rental assistance and job training information. There is no identification required to receive food from the mobile food pantry, but it is first-come, first-serve.
