Prom may seem like a long ways away, but the Perry junior class prom committee has already been hard at work raising funds.
At the October School Board meeting, members of the committee gave a report on where they currently stand. As of now, they have raised around $3,600 through fundraisers including the Josh Davis Poker Ride, baseball concessions, and the meal after the homecoming parade. Their goal is to raise between $8,000 and $10,000 for the April 28th event. Some upcoming fundraisers they have include a middle school dance, the annual Daddy-Daughter Dance, and a “Mixed Bag” fundraiser where they will sell bags of kitchen supplies around town.
The School Board did their part in aiding the prom committee, approving a donation of $500.
