The harvest season is in full force, and US Congressman David Young will be celebrating in person throughout Iowa’s Third Congressional District, including a stop in Guthrie Center. Young will visit Rose Acre Farms this Friday from 8-9 am for the annual “Bringing in the Harvest” tour. Young will be accompanied by Iowa Agriculture Secretary Bill Northey.

The tour includes stops to family farms, agribusinesses, and cooperatives to learn more about issues affecting the agriculture economy and Iowa farmers. Young sees this time as an opportunity to reach out to farmers and listen to their concerns. Young says he’s proud of the accomplishments of the Iowa farmer. “The pulse of Iowa’s economy is agriculture. The heart of our state is our farmers. Each fall gives Iowans the opportunity to take special time to appreciate farmers and this remarkable process called the harvest.”

Young will also make stops in Orient, Atlantic, Corning, Sharpsburg, and Mount Ayr that day.
