A Jefferson man faces a felony charge for a burglary incident in September.

Jefferson Police Captain Heath Enns says an investigation into an alleged burglary incident happened on September 7th in the 300 block of North Chestnut Street. Twenty-seven-year-old Dray Rivera went to Brittany Smith’s residence. Her dad opened the door, Rivera pushed him out of the way and went up to Smith’s bedroom. Rivera then broke into the bedroom and threatened Smith. Enns says Smith then called the police and Rivera left the residence before officers arrived.

Enns adds that as a result of the investigation, they have applied for a warrant for Rivera charging him with a Class D Felony for third degree burglary. Once the warrant is issued and Rivera is apprehended, he will be booked into the Greene County jail.
