ADM

The high school wrestling seasons won’t start practice for a few more days, but the Adel-Desoto-Minburn (ADM) Tigers know their path to the state tournament in February. The Iowa High School Athletic Association in Boone released the sectional and district wrestling assignments for all classes last week. The IHSAA has classified ADM as a Class 2A wrestling school and will compete in the section seven tournament hosted by Raccoon River Conference member Winterset on February 3, 2018. The Class 2A Section 7 field will also include wrestlers from Clarke Osceola, Creston/OM, Greene County, and Woodward-Granger.

The top two wrestlers from each weight class will advance to the Class 2A District 4 tournament on February 10, 2018, in Harlan. The district round’s comprised of teams from the Section 7 and 8 fields. Competing in the Class 2A Section 8 tournament is athletes from Atlantic/CAM, Harlan, Kuemper Catholic, Red Oak, Shenandoah, and Southwest Iowa.

ADM juniors Andrew Flora and Nolan Harsh qualified for last year’s state tournament as sophomores. Flora made it to championship Saturday in the 106-pound weight class, taking fourth overall. Harsh advanced to day two of the competition before his second loss in the consolation semifinal round. ADM’s first official wrestling practice begins on November 13.
