The Greene County Historical Society will highlight local book authors at their November program.

The historical society will feature Jefferson Library Director Jane Millard as the presenter on the number of published book authors in Greene County. Millard says she knows of at least 30 that are published. The project started following an all-school reunion for Jefferson in 2013. About 11 authors came to a separate event at the library during the reunion, which drove Millard to find out about other authors across the county.

The 1pm program will be held this Friday at United Methodist Church in Scranton. Lunch will be served prior to the program at noon. The meal is $8 for historical society members and $10 for non-members. Reservations for non-members must be made today by calling Nancy Hanaman at 515-436-7684.

The 1pm program is free and open to the public.
