A weekly program that started in Jefferson will continue throughout the winter months.
Jefferson Matters: Main Street’s Java and Juice program began this past February with visiting different businesses every week in the historic downtown district. JMMS has now handed the program over to Greene County Chamber and Tourism for the winter months. Chamber Office Coordinator Sheilah McGregor-Pound talks about taking over the program.
“We will be following the same format that was originally started. Just because that’s popular, people know what it is and the businesses understand what it is. The public is invited. It gives those people that were not able to be a part of the summer groups, that they could do year ‘round. We thought it would be a good idea, so we gave it a shot.”
The first program will take place tomorrow at Greene County Farm Bureau at 9:30am. The next slate of programs for November are Deal’s Orchard on November 10th and Krieger’s Flowers on November 17th. There will be no Java and Juice on November 24th, due to the Thanksgiving holiday.
All Java and Juice programs are free and open to the public.
