The Greene County High School Student Council is promoting important causes this month.

Recently, they held a Veterans Day program, and now they are collecting non-perishable food and warm clothing items for the Action Resource Center. The food and clothing drive ends on November 15th. Donated items can be brought to the high school office and the public is invited to participate.

Student Council President Reagan Lamoureux says they will also host their annual blood drive at the high school gym from 9am to 2pm this Friday. It will be Thanksgiving themed with decorations and movies playing. She points out that the public is also invited to donate blood and appointments can be scheduled by calling the high school.

Lamoureux explains the importance of involving the community with their different events.

“I really like how involved that we try to get the community because the more people we can get involved, the better outcome we’ll get with all of these, like with the more food we’ll get donated and the more people that will give blood. These are mostly things that are trying to help out other people and I think it’s good when we can get as many people involved.”

Call the high school for more information on either event at 386-2188.
