snow plows

While the weather in central Iowa is currently warmer than we’re used to in the middle of November, the possibility of a heavy snowfall is only increasing as the days pass.

With that in mind, the City of Perry reminds residents of their snow ordinance. In the event of a snow emergency, no person shall park, abandon, or leave unattended any vehicle on any public street, alley, or City-owned off-street parking area, unless the snow has already been removed and has ceased to fall. A snow emergency is any accumulation greater than half-an-inch. Additionally, a snow emergency parking ban will continue from its inception through the duration of the snow or ice storm event, and for a period of 48 hours after the storm has ceased, unless there’s been notification the street has been fully opened.

Anyone with questions regarding the Perry snow ordinance is encouraged to reach out to the Public Works Department at 515-465-2675, or City Hall at 515-465-2481.
