Those looking to have their canine friends take the first step in becoming a therapy dog can take a test in Jefferson Saturday.
The American Kennel Club Good Citizen test will take place at the Greene County Community Center gymnasium Saturday from 3 to 5pm. The test is a prerequisite for therapy dogs and it is for mix-breeds, as well as purebred canines, to show they have basic obedience skills. The test includes commands such as: sit, down, heel, stay, come, meeting a friendly stranger, walking through a crowd and what to do in distracting situations.
The cost for the test is $10. For more information, call 386-4173.
