One player on the West Central Valley Wildcats football team excelled both on the gridiron and in the classroom. With Van Meter’s completion of a Class 1A state championship on Friday, the coaches of Class 1A District 6 were allowed to release postseason award winners to media outlets. West Central Valley head football coach Eric Addy told Raccoon Valley Radio that junior Cole Sackett is the lone Wildcats player to make the academic all-district team. To make the academic all-district list a player must have a 3.5-grade point average or higher as a sophomore, junior or a senior. The West Central Valley Wildcats 2017 season closed with a record of 3-6 overall.
