A new chapter of West Central Valley Wildcat boys basketball begins tomorrow in Stuart. It’s the first West Central Activities Conference doubleheader of the season when the Woodward-Granger Hawks visit Guthrie County to battle the Wildcats. West Central Valley will be without the services of six players from a season ago, four of whom graduated in May and two others who transferred out of the district.
Justin Keck is in his first season as the head coach of West Central Valley boys basketball and says his team will look for leadership from seniors Garrett Caltrider and Billy Larson. The pair combined to score a total of 46 varsity points last season as juniors. Keck says he’s liked the leadership shown by his two seniors so far. “They know what I want from them, and they can portray that to the underclassmen,” Keck said, “There (also) doing a very good job in leading in the sense of just listening to me before cutting into my authority. They are leading with their actions, and it’s great to see.”
