The annual City of Adel Holiday Open House will be held this Friday, with several activities throughout the day.

The festivities will start at noon with a new event for this year. The public library will host a craft and book fair, featuring local artists and authors. At 3:30 p.m., Santa and Mrs. Claus will visit the library, as well as some of their elves. There will also be balloon art and face painting. The events at the library will conclude at 5, at which time the focus will shift to the downtown area. Santa and his crew will be at the Raccoon Valley Bank Community House located at 1016 Main Street from 5:30-8 p.m.

Additionally, various businesses around Adel will be participating in the Holiday Sip and Sample event. Participating stores will have free samples of food and drink, as well as recipe cards to hand out to attendees. A different recipe will be found at each of the participating businesses, and maps to guide you along the way will be provided. The Holiday Open House is sponsored in part by the Adel Partners Chamber of Commerce and the public library.
