West Central Valley Wildcat

With the Thanksgiving holiday in the rearview mirror, the West Central Valley girls and boys basketball teams will take the court for the first time together tonight in Stuart. The Wildcats welcome the Woodward-Granger Hawks to Guthrie County for a West Central Activities Conference varsity doubleheader. Both season series ended in two-game sweeps last year; West Central Valley owned the girls series, while Woodward-Granger won the two boys contests.

Tonight marks the second game of the season for the West Central Valley girls squad. The Wildcats lost their season opener last Tuesday against Nodaway Valley, 72-46, in Stuart. The Wolverines outscored the Wildcats 61-36 in the final three quarters. Senior Grace Dupey led the Wildcats 16 points in the opener. Senior Kennedy Lose added nine points, while junior Joelle Grubs pitched in eight. Tipoff of tonight’s West Central Activities Conference doubleheader between West Central Valley and Woodward-Granger begins at 6 p.m. with the varsity girl’s contest. The varsity boys game will follow 20 minutes after the conclusion of the girls game.
