The 100+ People for Perry group held a meeting Monday evening at La Poste, and the organization they elected to support was the McCreary Foundation.

The group heard from three randomly selected projects submitted to them, and decided to donate $6,500 to help the community center purchase a new range/oven. The oven will be used for congregate meals, Wednesday fellowship, and other community events. This was the fourth and final meeting this year of the 100+ People for Perry, and their eighth meeting overall. The goal of the organization is to make four large donations each year, which will impact the Perry community. To date, they’ve contributed $52,500 to an assortment of charities, nonprofits, and worthy projects.

The next meeting will be held on Monday, February 26th at La Poste. Anyone interested in joining 100+ People for Perry is encouraged to contact Mark Powell at 515-465-4641 or mpowell@fdplawfirm.com, Tom Lipovac at Tom.Lipovac@perry.k12.ia.us, or Linda Kaufman at kaufmanlinda1948@gmail.com.
