The Perry boys basketball team defeated North Polk 58-47 in season opening basketball Tuesday night from the Perry Sports Pavilion.  Rashon Ivory led the way with 16 points including 10 in the first half.  Perry led 17-10 after the first quarter and 27-20 at halfime.  North Polk started the second half on a 6-0 run to cut the Perry lead to one, but the Bluejays responded with an 11-0 run of their own to build a double digit lead and never look back.  Connor Nielsen scored 8 points and blocked 5 shots in a little more than 12 minutes of action after sitting out the first half and fouling out early in the fourth quarter.  Brandon Kenyon scored 10 points off the bench.

Perry will host Carroll Friday night in the Raccoon River Conference opener.
