The Iowa Arts Council’s Meet the Artists series is coming to Perry next week, and they will introduce the five newest members of Iowa Artist Fellows.

The event will be held Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at La Poste, and will feature an artist talk with musician River Breitbach of Dubuque, community art specialist Jennifer Drinkwater of Ames, filmmaker Jack Meggers of Des Moines, artist Lee Emma Running of Grinnell, and writer Rachel Yoder of Iowa City. The five artists will share their work with the public and discuss ideas. The artist talk will be followed by a reception, featuring music provided by Breitbach.

The Iowa Arts Council, which is a division of the Iowa Department of Cultural Affairs, created the multi-discipline Artist Fellowship Program in 2014. It supports professional, active Iowa artists who are at a pivotal point in their careers, and who demonstrate exceptional creativity and capacity to contribute to innovation. The event at La Poste is free and open to the public, and no registration is required.
