Judging by the current weather, the first substantial snowfall in Dallas County may be a long ways away. However, when it does come, Dallas County Conservation reminds people they can head to the Voas Nature Area for some skiing.

During selected weekends and school holidays in December, if there is more than four-inches of snow on the ground and a naturalist is available, they will host a ski program. Conservation has boots and skis for people available, with both youth and adult sizes. The specific dates and times will vary through the winter, but anyone interested can call or email the Conservation Department to have their name put on a contact list. Registration will be required to take part in the skiing program, and the cost is $3 per person.
