Greene County tied for last place on Saturday at the Dallas Center-Grimes Mustang Invitational wrestling tournament. Four Rams placed in the top eight with no one higher than fifth place.
Sophomore Garrett Tasler was fifth at 113 lbs. Senior Cayden Gerdes was fifth at 138 and junior Clint Dennhardt finished fifth at 182. Junior Bryce Hoyle was seventh at 195 lbs.
Taller went 2-1 on the day with a pair of galls to improve to 4-3 on the season. Geodes went 4-1 with three decisions and a major decision among his victories and he is now 6-3. Dennhardt was 2-1 and has the best record on the team at 6-1, while Hoyle was 2-2 with two falls and he stands at 5-3.
Ankeny Centennial won the tournament with 214.5 points and Webster City was second at 199 I-35 (Truro) had 181.5 with PCM (Monroe ) 162, Creston/Orient-Macksburg 120, Dallas Center-Grimes 115, ADM 113, Urbandale 89, Des Moines East 80.5, Carlisle 60.5, Carrroll 55, Oskaloosa and West Marshall (State Center) both had 47 with Greene County and Nevada both at 41 points.
