Earlier this year Iowa legislators passed new regulations on fireworks usage. Lawmakers added December 10th-January 3rd as an acceptable time to purchase and use them. The City of Stuart concurred with the state legislators by approving this same addition during June’s CIty Council meeting.
However, fireworks usage in Panora and Guthrie Center is still illegal. These two communities require a permit for fireworks displays within city limits. If caught shooting off fireworks, residents can be issued fines and other disciplinary action. Contact your respective city hall for more information.
