Zachery WatersA Paton man was recently sentenced to probation for a September incident.

According to court documents, 21-year-old Zachery Waters pled guilty to an aggravated misdemeanor for assault and a serious misdemeanor for assault on a peace officer. Court documents show he had his two consecutive one-year prison sentences suspended and was placed on two years of probation.

The judgement stems from a September 19th incident in the 400 block of South Main Street in Paton. When Greene County Deputies arrived on scene, Waters was assaulting his mother and brother. He also assaulted a deputy as he was being apprehended.

As per the plea agreement, the state agreed to dismiss all other charges. Waters was originally charged with felonies for burglary, domestic abuse assault – impeding flow of blood and air and harassment and misdemeanors for no contact order with his mother and interference with official acts. He was also ordered to pay over $1,000 in fines, court costs and surcharges.
