The Panorama Panthers girls soundly defeated Martensdale Saint Marys this Thursday in Panora. A combination of stingy defense and big games from a few key players carried the Panthers to a 60-23 victory.
Panorama started the game on a 14-2 run and never looked back. By halftime, the Panthers had earned a 34-18 lead.
Junior Bailey Beckman continued a spectacular run of form with a 21 point outing and lead all scorers. Also in double digits for Panorama was Morgan Johnk with 16 points and Devyn Kemble with 14 points.
The win keeps Panorama at the top of the conference and extends their winning streak to five games. In those five games, the Panthers have only trailed once and have an average margin of victory of 31.8 points.
The Panthers will get a day to rest before facing ACGC in Guthrie Center on Saturday. The contest was originally scheduled for Friday but was moved. The boy’s contest will also be played on Saturday.
The Panthers improve to 6-1 on the season. Martensdale Saint Marys Falls to 2-3.
