ADM Tigers

For the second Friday in a row, the Adel Desoto Minburn Tigers basketball teams will host a Raccoon River Conference rival. The Perry Bluejay and Jayette basketball teams fly into Adel for a varsity doubleheader tonight. Both games will feature a pair of teams looking for their first conference win of the season.

The ADM Tigers girls basketball team snapped a five-game losing streak to open the season on Monday with a 62-23 triumph over the Coon Rapids-Bayard Crusaders (0-6 overall). The Tigers registered a season-best 21 steals in the victory, including a career-high six steals from junior Anna Kenny. The ADM boys basketball team has the best overall record of the four varsity teams playing tonight with two wins and two losses. The Tigers were last on the court last Friday against league rival Winterset, falling at home to the Huskies, 63-45. ADM senior forward Cade Stine-Smith says the team would like to string together consecutive wins before entering holiday break. “Especially at home, we should definitely be winning every game here at ADM,” Stine-Smith said, “I think we are going to come out and accomplish that (starting tonight).

Both Perry basketball teams are looking to end long losing streaks in Adel tonight. Perry boys’ basketball team has lost five straight games since their season-opening win versus North Polk on November 28. The Jayette Basketball team has suffered seven consecutive losses since their season-opening victory November 17th versus Des Moines North.
