Dallas County Hospital recently announced they have a new Chief Clinical Officer.

Cindy Peeler was chosen to replace outgoing CCO Tonya Summerson, a position she took over in November. Peeler has nearly 30 years of experience as a nurse throughout Central Iowa. Most recently she served as the Chief Nursing Officer at Adair County Health Systems for the last five years. She’s been an active member of the Iowa Organization for Nurse Leaders, and has spoken at national conferences.

DCH Chief Executive Officer Angela Mortoza said in a statement that Peeler has already been a great asset to their team. Mortoza believes Peeler’s clinical background and leadership experience will be beneficial to the hospital moving forward. Peeler added, she’s passionate about high-quality patient care, which is something DCH has displayed abundantly. She specifically mentioned the high scores the hospital received in recent patient surveys, and said she looks forward to continue that level of care and possibly even improve on it.
