The Greene County Medical Center Auxiliary recently completed two fundraisers.

Auxiliary Liaison Hollie Roberts says the Holiday of Lights brought in more than $4,000, and a one-day candy sale raised another $1,600. Both fundraisers were an increase compared to last year. The money will go toward a capital campaign to purchase a 3D Mammography machine. Roberts explains the importance of having the piece of equipment.

“For instance, if you have a woman who has dense tissue, breast tissue, they require a 3D mammo to do the work for them. There’s just so much proof, and so much information has been passed along that that is really state-of-the-art equipment. And of course at the medical center, we want to do what is best for our patients.”

The equipment costs $350,000. Those who would like to make a monetary donation to the campaign can contact Roberts at the medical center.
