With the Christmas holiday in the rearview mirror, the Adel-Desoto-Minburn Tigers returned to practice Tuesday morning. The Tiger wrestlers will exercise from 8 to 10 a.m. every day the rest of the week including Saturday as ADM gears up to resume their season next Thursday.
ADM first-year head wrestling coach Chris Hatchitt has been pleased with how his wrestlers are doing on their feet and the endurance they are showing late in matches. He points out there are still areas to improve on, especially when it comes wrestling on the bottom of the referee’s position. “One of the areas we can still improve on is being explosive on the bottom,” Hatchitt said, “Having the mentality that no one can hold me down, and moving off the whistle and being explosive in getting out from underneath.”
ADM will take Sunday and New Years Day off returning to afternoon practice on Tuesday. The Tigers wrestling team starts the 2018 portion of their schedule Thursday, battling the Dallas Center-Grimes Mustangs in a nonconference dual in Grimes.
