Entering Thursday night’s high school girls’ basketball game between Woodward-Granger and Greene County, the contest appeared even on paper. It proved to be just that as the Hawks and Rams went into overtime in the middle school gym in Jefferson. In the end, Coach Dean Lyons’ Rams were 41-34 winners, ending a six game losing streak and improving to 4-7 on the season. The Hawks fell to 2-9 overall and they now have lost six in a row. Last night’s game was heard on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com.

Senior Laurin Lyons had 15 points and 15 rebounds for the Rams, and senior Samantha Hardaway also scored 15 points. The rest of the Greene County team totaled just 11 points. The Rams had 19 turnovers to 18 for W-G. Greene County was 11 of 42 from the floor and the Hawks were 10 of 40. Both teams made one of seven shots from three point range. The Rams will try to make it two in a row tonight when they meet South Hamilton in Jewell as the front end of a girl/boy doubleheader.
