Dallas County Conservation is hitting the ground running in 2018, and this weekend they will host a program on stars and the stories they tell.
The event is called “Star Gazing – Story Telling,” and Forest Park Museum Curator Pete Malmberg believes it appeals to the increasingly large group of people interested in exploring the night sky. “Our naturalists love astronomy, and we’re finding a lot of the public does too. It’s a cool discipline, and it’s great to be able to look at the sky and see where the planets are, where the stars are, and the constellations, all those things. Each culture around the world has myths and legends about the stars, and we will be discussing some of those.”
The event will be held on Sunday from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Bear Creek Nature Center in the Kuehn Conservation Area. There is no cost to attend, but registration is required. For more information or to register, call the Forest Park Museum at 515-465-3577.
