The West Central Valley School District has announced finalists to become the next superintendent.
Lance Ridgely is a former superintendent, principal, curriculum director, and activities director. Ridgely has also worked with the Northwest Evaluation Association facilitating workshops for professional development with staff primarily associated with schools aligned with the Bureau of Indian Education in Oregon. In Iowa, Ridgely has worked with Authentic Intellectual Work (AIW) initiatives, started technology initiatives, and upgraded district facilities.
Tim Salmon is a former 3rd-8th grade teacher, elementary principal, and central office administrator. For the past three years, Salmon has been the principal and superintendent at United Community School District in Boone County. He has helped integrate 1:1 technology at the elementary level and has experience with several Iowa school district programs and initiatives.
These finalists are invited for formal interviews Monday night. Various district and community stakeholders will be included in the interview process to provide feedback to the Board.
The candidate pool included 22 total applicants, with four coming outside Iowa and six with five or more years of superintendent experience. There were three finalists, however one withdrew his name from consideration.
