Greene County Community CenterGreene County families looking for some weekend entertainment can purchase tickets to the Shriner Circus.

Jefferson Parks and Recreation Director Vicky Lautner says the Shriner Circus will be held on Saturday, January 27th, which is earlier than their typical April time-frame, in the Jacobson Building on the Iowa State Fairgrounds in Des Moines. JPRD is once again providing free transportation to and from the circus and are giving away free admission tickets.

“We have gotten permission from the (Greene County) School to get school buses, we’re getting bus drivers (and) we’re also getting tickets from the Shriners. It’s just a little bit earlier, but everything will go (the same) as we’ve done in the past.”

Lautner points out you must ride the bus in order to receive the free admission tickets. The bus will leave the Greene County Community Center at 12:30pm and will return following the circus. Tickets are on a first come, first serve basis. Call 386-3412 or stop by the community center to reserve your tickets.
