With the hiring of Lance Ridgely as West Central Valley School District’s next superintendent, current Superintendent Dr. David Arnold has just five more board meetings to complete some objectives. Arnold is hoping to make Ridgely’s transition as smooth as possible and to give him all the tools needed to succeed.

Arnold explains a couple of the objectives he would like to complete before Ridgely assumes the position. “I’ll work with Mr. Ridgely on the replacement person (principal position) for the Dexter building. I want to make sure the buildings are secure. I’ll be putting in the electronic openers for each building so the buildings are totally secure and that will be done before he arrives.”

Arnold also wants to make sure the vehicular fleet is up to snuff and ready for Ridgely’s disposal. The Board recently allocated up to $25,000 for the purchase of a new transport van, which would be used primarily to assist students with special needs. Finally, Arnold mentioned necessary general maintenance and upkeep to buildings and grounds. This will include installing new bleachers by the football fields at the middle school.
