Greene County fell to 9-6 overall and 7-4 in Heart of Iowa Activities Conference boys’ basketball when they lost to Roland-Story in Story City on Tuesday night, 62-60. The Norsemen improved to 6-10 and 3-8. The actions as heard on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com.
Greene County led 7-0 before R-S scored 12 unanswered points and never gave up the lead. The Rams trailed by as many as 12 points in the second half. They climbed to within one point at 61-60, but could not get the game tied or take the lead.
Junior Trey Hinte had 22 points on the night, which included six baskets from three-point range. Junior Lance Hughes added 11 points. The Rams made 10 three-point baskets, turned the ball over just seven times, and went four of eight from the foul line.
R-S had eight turnovers, was 10 of 19 shooting free throws, and also made 10 basketball from beyond the arc. Carter Greenfield had 18 points, with 15 from Austin Hobbs, 14 by Kade Faga, and 10 for Dylan Matheason.
