The final dual meets on the schedule for the Greene County High School wrestlers are in Huxley later today. Ballard, ranked fourth in Class 2A, hosts the Rams and Humboldt, also 2A programs, along with Class 3A Perry with action starting at 5:30 p.m. Greene County is 7-9 on the dual meet season.

Coach Mark Sawhill’s Rams do not have any wrestlers rated in the top 10 in their respective weight classes by The Predicament, but the team is coming off a second place finish last Saturday at the Heart of Iowa Activities Conference tournament. Senior Cayden Gerden (132) has the top record on the team at 22-4, while junior Brock Wuebker (170) is 14-4, and senior Clint Dennhardt (182) is 10-3.

Ballard has Jarrett Miller ranked second at 138, Skyler Noftger, second at 152, Tate Battani, third at 160, and Ben Lee, third at 182.

Perry has rated wrestlers in 3A in Zachary Thompson, fourth at 120, Kaleb Olejniczak, fifth at 126, and Zach Stewart, second at 138.

Humboldt’s Joey Bussey is ranked seventh at 145 lbs.

After tonight, the only other regular season action scheduled for the Rams is the ACGC tournament in Guthrie Center this Saturday. Greene County goes to a Class 2A Sectional tournament in Winterset on Saturday, Feb. 3.
